About Hydrated Lime
Hydrated lime — calcium hydroxide — is produced by slaking quick lime under controlled water addition. The result is a dry, stable powder that delivers alkalinity without the heat of reaction and the handling constraints of quick lime, which makes it the practical choice wherever material is dosed by hand or stored on an open site.
It is used across water treatment, effluent neutralisation, construction, and soil correction. Deshwali Minerals produces hydrated lime alongside its quick lime lines at Borunda, from select high-calcium limestone of the Gotan–Borunda limestone belt, Rajasthan, burnt in the same pet coke-fired kilns. The product is a dry white fine powder specified at available lime 90–92% as Ca(OH)₂ (IS 1540 Part 2), CaO 80% minimum, MgO 2.5–3.0%, loss on ignition 4–5%, free moisture 0.6–0.8% and ≥95% passing 200 mesh.
Valid until 31 Dec 2026. GST @ 5% and freight are extra, shown separately on the quotation.

Where Hydrated Lime is used
The duty determines the grade. These are the applications this product is technically suited to.
- 01Drinking water and wastewater treatment
- 02Effluent neutralisation and heavy metal precipitation
- 03Construction — mortars, plasters and stabilised sub-bases
- 04Agricultural soil pH correction
- 05Flue gas treatment and pollution control

Choosing the right hydrated lime for the duty
The grade, the size fraction and the packing follow from how the material will be used. These are the points the sales desk settles with you before quoting.
- 01
The duty
A flux, a reagent for pH correction, a stabiliser under a road or a binder in mortar each weigh the parameters differently: reactivity for a melt shop, particle size for a dosing plant.
- 02
What your intake takes
Lump sizes for a kiln or furnace charge; a ground powder or hydrated lime for a feeder, slurry tank or silo. The size fraction is screened to the system it feeds.
- 03
The parameters that matter
Agree the specification lines that decide fitness — CaO or available lime, MgO and silica limits, reactivity, moisture, sieve size — and the test method for each, so the certificate answers the right question.
- 04
The journey and the storage
Packing is chosen against transit distance, the season and what will unload and store the material at the destination.
- 05
Quantity and schedule
A one-off lot and a monthly contract are produced and priced differently. Consignments start at the minimum order and are scheduled around confirmed dates.
Packing, storage and transport
Lime degrades on contact with moisture and air. How it is packed and stored is a technical decision, not a cosmetic one.
Packing
- 10 kg bags
- 40 kg bags
- Jumbo bags
Recommended against transit distance and destination conditions.
Storage
- Store in a dry, covered area on pallets, clear of the ground.
- Keep bags sealed — prolonged air exposure causes carbonation and loss of available lime.
- Rotate stock; use oldest consignments first.
Transport
- Bagged and jumbo bag despatch from Borunda, Jodhpur.
- Palletised and sheeted loading for road transport.
- Containerised loading available for export consignments.
Safety
- Alkaline and irritant to skin, eyes and respiratory tract.
- Use gloves, goggles and dust protection.
- Refer to the Safety Data Sheet before handling. —

Ask on WhatsAppThe minimum order quantity for Hydrated Lime is 42 tonnes. GST at 5% and transport are charged extra on the ex-works rate.
Hydrated Lime is supplied in 10 kg and 40 kg bags and jumbo bags, with bulk options where your handling allows. Packing is recommended against the transit distance and destination conditions, because lime degrades on contact with moisture and air.
Yes. The size fraction and grade are agreed at the quotation stage and the consignment is screened or ground to match. Tell us the duty the material has to perform and we will recommend the fraction.
The specification parameters are listed on this page. The verified figures for each parameter are supplied by the company against your specific grade requirement — this site does not publish specification values that have not been confirmed by the plant.
Store dry, under cover and sealed until use, clear of the ground, and rotate stock so the oldest consignment is used first. Lime reacts with atmospheric moisture and carbon dioxide, which reduces available lime over time.
